Lily Elviro Biography

Lily 'Aidiliy' Elviro was born into a family that appreciated gaming, her mother even having to leave a casino to give birth to her. Her parents used to gather with other family members to play Cuban poker together and visit some of the local casinos in southern Florida. Lily, as she prefers to be called, chose to become a poker dealer when it became legal to do so, and she worked at the Seminole Casino in Hollywood, Florida.

During Lily’s time at Seminole, she learned a great deal from watching the players at her tables, but one of them, in particular, caught her eye. Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi was a local player, and the two hit it off. Not only did they begin dating, but Michael helped her improve her own poker game as time went on.

Eventually, Lily began to travel the poker tournament circuit with Michael, and after he landed several respectable finishes on the World Poker Tour, the duo went on the road together. She began playing tournaments with him, and her 27th place finish at the 2005 WPT World Poker Challenge in Reno gave her the confidence she needed to play more events. Her biggest accomplishment thus far has been at the 2005 WPT Ladies Night tournament where she finished second to Jennifer Tilly and received much regard for her excellent play during the event. Soon after, she stopped traveling as much as Michael because of the two little children that they had at home, though she can still be seen at tournaments now and then, running over her opponents with the kind of aggression that only “The Grinder” can teach.
